Arjay and Morgan were married on a cold, cold Saturday in October at the fabulous Hydrangea Blu Barn, in Rockford, MI. The leaves had just turned colors, and the cold snap brought out all the finishing touches of deep reds! Thankfully, Morgan was more than happy to brave the cold and misty rain to get some lovely art anyway!

Blu Hydrangea’s dressing room is so cute! The mirrors and motivational signs create such a fun vibe! It was perfect for this down-to-earth couple.  The barn doors make a great backdrop for the bridal party images!

Morgan wanted her event to have more of a vintage feel. With that in mind, these images were edited with low vibrancy and softer tones. I’m always happy to adjust my style to yours!

And now out for their photo walk, just the bride and groom and a wonderful twenty minutes of privacy. (Schedule this into your timeline! It’s awesome, and a much-needed recharge!) The venue has an amazing white fence to follow. I loved the contrast with the beautiful Michigan fall colors. This is an ideal October wedding!

Inside, the barn had been reset for the reception with all the DIY elements Morgan and Arjay had prepared. The party was a blast, in spite of the chill, and all the guests were game to stay until the very end.

One thing I love to do as a photographer, is document the “non-dancing” guests and the dancing guests alike. Look out wall-flowers! If you’re there, my camera will find you, just hanging out and talking, or cuddling with loved ones, or enjoying the party through your own lens. We love making sure all our client’s friends and family are well-represented on this ultra-fun day! We all look our best and the camera loves it!

Morgan had a little black dress to change into after the formal festivities were over. I love this trend of the bride being able to cut loose on her own wedding day and change if she wants to. It’s very empowering. Thank you so much, to Arjay and Morgan for trusting me to photograph your beautiful day! I know how hard you worked to put this all together and it was a privilege to be there for you!
