Miranda and Josh were married at J Weaver Barn in Goshen, Indiana on a crisp fall day in October.

J Weaver Barn and Rock Run Creek Barn are two fabulous venues within a mile of one another, co-owned and expertly managed. I had a blast working here! First of all, let me just say, that there is no shortage of getting-ready space options and photo locations. The bridesmaids had a whole house to themselves to get ready in, while the groomsmen arrived pretty much ready to go and did their finishing touches near the covered bridge on Rock Run Creek’s property. I love that because these two venues are co-owned, portraits are possible at either location!

We did the first look and some portraits right before the ceremony. The light was perfect! And the covered bridge created a rustic-style frame that suited their vibe.

The ceremony was traditional and sweet. The officiant asked the guests to pass the ring box from hand to hand so friends and family could offer a prayer or blessing where they were seated, while the closest loved ones gathered in a circle around the bride and groom to do likewise. Such happiness at the close of the ceremony!

While I was busy photographing the receiving line hugs and love, Zac snuck in to take some reception area photos! Miranda and Josh had hired Mission BBQ to cater their event and the adorable little sign – “Can’t say I do without BBQ” was the cutest bit of decor! Smoked meats are so homey and comforting. It was a bit chilly outside, but the barn held heat well and the warm food made everything feel exactly as a fall wedding should.

We waited for the golden hour, but it never came. Instead, the overcast sky gentled down into a pastel blend of subtle tones which is almost what happened at their engagement session too!

After our pastel sunset session, we went back inside for the first dance, the father-daughter dance, and some fun hangout reception time. Many of the guests preferred not to dance, so we made sure to take photos of them enjoying the space at their tables or mingling about.

To send them off, the guests gathered to shower the bride and groom with handfuls of confetti while they ran to their get-away car. I’m guessing they probably found random bits of confetti in their clothes, car, and hair for a few days.
